David James Call grew up in the greater Los Angeles area listening to new wave in the 80's, grunge & post-punk in the 90's, then later spending time in the club scene in his 20's and 30's soaking up the dancier side of music. After initially learning bass guitar, he fell in love with synthesizers and drum machines, and started to compose with them, using Monowheel as his moniker.
